18. Reyansh wants to go to the Trip

Reyansh's POV-

I stood in the hospital corridor waiting for my sister and the baby, and I was here for their checkup. Di was inside with the doctor, and I could hear the faint sounds of the baby's cries.

As I leaned against the wall, I couldn't help but think about the trip I was supposed to be on. My friends were probably boarding the bus right now. I had been looking forward to this trip for weeks, but family comes first. Dad needed my help, and with Jiju away in Chicago, I had to step up.

I glanced at my watch, imagining the bus pulling away from the curb. A pang of regret hit me, but I quickly pushed it aside. This was important too. Di needed me here.

The door to the examination room opened, and the doctor stepped out, giving me a reassuring nod. Everything was fine. I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding and smiled as Di emerged, cradling her newborn.

"How's everything?" I asked smiling.

"All good," she replied, her eyes happy. "Thanks for being here, bhai." she said keeping her palm on my one cheek.

I nodded, feeling a mix of pride and longing. "Of course, Di. Anything for you and the little one." I smiled at my boy who looked tired because of the injection I guess.

As we walked out of the hospital towards our car, I couldn't help but think about the trip again. I missed being with my friends, with her

What would she be doing right now? Suddenly I remembered yesterday evening's incident when Niharika was on call with her. I smiled at the thought.

[I was heading towards my room when I heard Niharika talking someone on call and then I heard her name. Being a little curious I am, I went towards her direction listening to her talks.

"hmm someone is missing my br-" shit I listened her saying this when I ran in her direction and closed her mouth with my palm.

"What the fuck are you saying Nihu??" I angrily whispered. "Bhai please-" I again closed her mouth glaring at her.

She looked me with wide eyes as she could not talk. I warned her to not say anything to her to make her uncomfortable but her expressions were saying that she isn't going to agree. And at last I joined my hands at her to not say anything. She huffed and nodded.

I felt relaxed and after listening her hesitant but sweet voice last time headed towards my room for a better sleep. And not to forget, having a terrifying dream. okay okay not that much terrifying, actually I kind of like it.

Uff...shut up Reyansh.]

As we settled into the car, Neha Di glanced over at me, noticing my distant expression. "You really wanted to go on that trip, didn't you?" she asked softly.

I shrugged, trying to play it cool. "It's no big deal"

She smiled, a hint of mischief in her eyes. "You know, I still remember how excited you used to get for trips when we were kids."

I groaned inwardly, knowing where this was headed. "Di, please don't..."

But she was already laughing. "Remember that time you were so eager to get on the bus that you almost forgot to wear your pants?"

I felt my cheeks heat up at the memory. "Di, come on! That was ages ago."

She chuckled, clearly enjoying my embarrassment. "I had to run after you with your pants and some food for the trip. You were halfway down the street before you realized!"

I couldn't help but laugh along with her, despite my embarrassment. "Yeah, yeah. Thanks for saving me back then."

She reached over and squeezed my hand. "And thanks for being here now. I know you miss your friends, but it means a lot to me that you're here."

I nodded, feeling a warmth spread through me. "Anything for you and the little one," I repeated, glancing at my nephew who was now peacefully asleep in Di's arms.

As we drove home, I let myself relax. Now, next destination, dad's office!

I headed to the company's building. The drive was short.

When I reached at Dad's office, he was on a call. I waited patiently, looking around the space. Dad finally hung up and looked at me with a proud smile.

"Hey buddy, I knew you had plans but I really wanted you to be here." he said, signalling me to sit on the chair.

"It's okay, Dad. It was not that important!" I replied, sitting on the chair.

He nodded, "I need your help with some paperwork. It's been piling up, and with everything going on, I haven't had the time. I would have asked any of the employee here but you too need to know these."

"Don't worry, Dad. I'll take care of it," I assured him, rolling up my sleeves and getting to work.

As I sorted through the document, my phone buzzed with message. Raj, sent me a photo? I opened the message box, when surprise and anger and something which I can't define, rushed in me.

Raj sent a message

He sent a photo of Pratiksha and Niharika, where my sister is looking towards the camera and smiling with pose and.....She is sitting on the window side looking umm SAD? I felt a little furious because of his antic, how come he clicked their photos. BITCH

Raj: Um hmm someone is missing you!! 😉 Looks like aag dono jagah lagi hai.

The audicity of this man. I groaned.

You: 🖕🙄

Raj: Ya ya, miss you to wink 🫂

I again looked at the photo and smiled thinking about someone.

Hours passed, and the work kept me busy. Dad and I worked side by side, occasionally chatting about random things. It felt good to be there, helping him out. By the time we finished, it was late evening.

"Thanks, son. You did a great job." Dad said, patting my back.

"Anytime, Dad," I replied, feeling a sense of accomplishment.

"Now, I won't disturb you, you can go wherever you want beta."

I nodded and left in hurry for home.

When I reached it was already 8pm and very dark.

Should I go there? But how?
and that's when my eyes drifted to my bike which I remember I rode a very long time ago.

I smirked at the thought and chuckled.

It's time baby.

I quickly wore my jacket and picked my belongings and went towards my bike.

I kick started my bike as excitement rushed in me. The engine roared and I started my journey in an unknown direction. (I know where I have to go).

The night air was feeling cold against my skin, I swung my leg over the bike, the engine rumbling beneath me. I passed by roadside stalls, their fragrant brews tempting me to stop. But I pressed on. The highway led me past temples, their flags on the top reaching for the sky. I wondered about the pilgrims who had walked these paths. The air grew cooler, and forests closed in. I leaned to the bike feeling the rush of adrenaline. The mountains stood still in peace, I crossed rivers, their waters crystal clear, and glimpses of the terrace farming fields.

As I rode through the roads my muscles ached but determination fueled my every kilometers.

Finally, I entered the area near Shantivan, where the road curved unusually.

My tired eyes caught glimpses of distant lights, the flicker of the village, hmmm interesting. The river flowed alongside, its waters reflecting the moonlight.

Ohh, god now I want to sleep so badly.

And then I found a few buses? Few students were going towards the villa. How slow they were driving?

But now I sighed as I had reached my destination. But my eyes were about to get closed as I yawned and then.....
